Job Summary
Liberty Healthcare is accepting applications for a part-time Competency Education Trainer position.
Liberty Healthcare operates a specialized mental health program within the West Valley Detention Center a San Bernardino County jail located in Rancho Cucamonga.
This program provides high quality assessment and treatment services to adult inmates who are justice involved and experiencing mental illness.
As a Competency Trainer you will work onsite in the jail and provide face-to-face services to program clients who are adult inmates.
Your role will focus on educating clients regarding their mental illness the criminal justice system and general court proceedings.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Documenting services and client progress
- Participating in clinical team meetings and case conferences
- Collaborating with clinical ancillary and security staff
- Helping to ensure program clients receive high quality mental health services
As a part-time employee of Liberty Healthcare you can expect:
- Flexible 12 hour workweek
- Starting salary between $25.00 to $35.00 (depending on degree experience and other qualifications)

To qualify for this position you must have a bachelors or masters degree in Social Work Psychology Counseling Education Criminal Justice Therapeutic Recreation or a related social services / human services field.
Prior experience supporting people with mental illness is also required. Knowledge regarding the criminal justice system is preferred. Social Work Case Management or similar experience in a mental health setting is helpful. A professional license is not required.
Outstanding communication skills are a must and you should have the ability to establish rapport with people who are experiencing mental illness.
