Job Summary

Malik & Mähleke GmbH a leading e-commerce company and renowned publishing house based in Hamburg is looking for a professional Book Translator and Editor for the language combination English this role you will be responsible for the accurate translation and stylistic editing of our English publications into Spanish making our content accessible to a wider audience. Tasks

Translate English books into Spanish while preserving the style and intent of the original text.
Edit and proofread translated texts to ensure the highest linguistic and stylistic quality.
Collaborate closely with authors to reflect their vision and requirements throughout the translation process.
Research cultural and linguistic nuances to adapt the texts to the Spanish-speaking target audience.
Create glossaries and style guides to maintain consistency across all translated materials.

Requirements

Excellent command of English and Spanish both written and spoken ideally with a degree in Translation Studies or a related field.
Experience in translating and editing books preferably in the areas of e-commerce and publishing.
Ability to translate complex texts accurately and with stylistic finesse while considering cultural nuances.
Proficiency in using translation software and other relevant technological tools.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team with authors editors and other stakeholders.
