This Position reports to:
Head of SalesAs a Specialist Technical Advisor for Automation & Cyber Security you will lead the development of technical solutions during the pursuit and bid phases of large strategic projects. Working closely with Sales Bid Managers and Capture Teams you will deliver high-quality technical content and ensure tenders are completed on time to specification and with a focus on quality and safety.
The role spans all market segments but will focus on high-value tenders in Brownfield Energy Industries (O&G Power Generation Petrochemicals) with growing exposure to Energy Transition areas such as Offshore Wind Hydrogen CCUS Nuclear SMR Energy from Waste Sustainable Fuels Battery Storage and EV Infrastructure.
You may also support strategic studies that precede project opportunities and will work with ABB product groups to mature technical offerings in emerging Energy Transition markets.

Provide early phase technical advisory support in collaboration with the front end advising on technical issues fronting customer workshops and presentations.
Depending on the opportunities short term travel to customer locations in the UK and overseas may be required.
Assisting sales managers with opportunity prospecting compliance to customer specifications and safety standardsas well as technical details writeups costs and deliverables for sales proposals.
May own specific opportunities outright including front end and technical solution if in line with skillsets.
Considering financial elements and impact in design of technical solutions to develop a holistic work winning position.
Maintaining a strong network of engineering professionals and disseminating engineering best practices to aid colleagues development.
Developing selecting and applying standardized solutions procedures and tools reporting inefficiencies and identifying improvement opportunities of ABBs standard deliveries and products.
Skilled in industrial automation with ICSS & SCADA systems networks IEC standards and cyber security requirements.
Experienced in supporting proposals and project execution for cyber security projects in the Energy Industries sector.
Strong knowledge of engineering techniques system and network design and translating customer specifications into solutions.
Expertise in cyber security for control systems (DCS & SCADA) including risk assessments compliance (IEC62443 OG86 NIST 800) SIEM/IDS/IPS and network remediation.
Hands-on expertise with ABB control systems (800xA AC500 SCADA Vantage Zenon Freelance); desirable experience with AC800M and other major DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms (Honeywell Siemens Yokogawa Emerson).
Knowledge of industrial protocols (IEC61850 OPC Modbus RTU/TCP Profibus Profinet) and related software tools (e.g. simulators).
Exposure to hardware design including cabinet build heat and power calculations.
Qualified to (Automation Software Electronics Systems Instrumentation) or equivalent with excellent communication leadership and customer-facing skills.
