Job Duties
The Victim Advocate Assistant at the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of Virginia is responsible for providing victim advocacy support and notification to victims of crime with cases going through an appeal or a sexually violent predator civil commitment process. The Victim Advocate Assistant will also be responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Address Confidentiality Program which provides a confidential address to survivors of domestic violence sexual violence human trafficking stalking and child abduction. This position requires occasional statewide travel for court accompaniment purposes training and community events. Professional duties include victim advocacy support court accompaniment connecting victims with community services and support administrative responsibilities casefile management communicating with victims in a trauma-informed manner providing training to community stakeholders on victim services offered by the Office of the Attorney General and supporting victim-focused events.

A bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Psychology Social Work or related field; or equivalent experience.
