About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and visionary leader to join our School community as Deputy Principal - Student and Staff Wellbeing commencing in Term 1 2026.

In this pivotal executive role reporting directly to the Principal the successful candidate will lead the strategic development and delivery of the Schools student and staff wellbeing programs. With a focus on fostering a safe inclusive and supportive environment the Deputy Principal - Student and Staff Wellbeing will play a central role in enhancing student engagement strengthening staff wellbeing initiatives and embedding a culture of care across all areas of School life.

As a key member of the Executive Team the Deputy Principal - Student and Staff Wellbeing will embody and promote the values and traditions of St Catherines School actively contributing to the Schools strategic vision and the continued development of a Culture of Thinking that nurtures both personal and collective growth.

To be successful in this opportunity you will require:

Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • Current VIT Registration and appropriate teaching qualifications.
  • Postgraduate level qualifications (or currently studying) in Education and/or Education Management (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in educational leadership with a proven ability to contribute effectively to an executive team within a school setting (preferred).
  • Extensive experience in the design implementation and review of student wellbeing programs pastoral structures and support systems.
  • Proven capacity to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams including wellbeing staff Heads of Years and support professionals to achieve student wellbeing outcomes.
  • Sound understanding of current research and best practice in adolescent development child protection mental health positive education and wellbeing frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in managing restorative approaches behavioural frameworks and case management for students requiring support.
  • Familiarity with relevant curriculum and wellbeing frameworks including the Victorian Curriculum Respectful Relationships and Child Safe Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to inform strategic planning identify wellbeing trends and implement targeted interventions.
