The Financial Accountant role works within the UK Financial Accounting team which is responsible for the integrity of the Financial Balance Sheet of Airbus Operations Ltd submitted for both Airbus Group reporting and statutory reporting. This unique position in the company enables the individual to gain an insightful top level view of the financials for the UK Commercial division and to understand the business drivers that sit behind the numbers.
The UK team has a strong team ethic and work well together to support share understanding and help each other to deliver as one team. The ability to flex to the teams ever-changing requirements means there is scope to be involved in a wide range of topics affecting the business to suit individuals interests and development needs. There is a great collective team spirit in an enjoyable and fun working environment.
This role is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their technical financial accounting skillset via various challenging topics whilst contributing to the corporate accounting submissions and business processes impacting the companys financials.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
Closing activity - Key contributor for the on time on quality monthly delivery of the Airbus Operations Ltd corporate financial statements submission (FACTS). This includes balance sheet reconciliations journal postings and trend analysis to ensure a good understanding of cost drivers in the areas responsible for. Building relations with the Consolidation team and the UK Finance team to strengthen the quality of the submissions
Audit strong support in relation to external audit requirements and internal controls implementation
Consultant to the business - Advisor to Finance and the wider business on accounting considerations building relationships with stakeholders to gain their engagement and agreement of those accounting topics
Transnational Harmonisation - work with transnational counterparts to share best practice devise harmonise ways of workings and implement improvement projects
AGBS - build relations with AGBS (Airbus Global Business Services) to ensure a collaborative approach with regards to the activities under their ownership that feeds into the UK accounts (AP AR Bank)
Ad hoc - Involvement in a wide range of ad hoc requirements / projects to drive the function forward

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate for the role should be able to demonstrate 2 key dimensions;
Technical skills to understand complex accounting and SAP flows and systems (SAP ARP SAC / Business Warehouse tools)
Stakeholder management skills to drive accounting integrity in the accounts
Experience
Part-qualified accountant
Problem solving
Technical accounting knowledge
SAP investigation ability
Excellent Google sheet & BW skills
