Department Overview

The Physical Therapy department evaluates and treats children with a range of diagnoses . For example gross motor development delay cerebral palsy spina bifida Down syndrome and orthopedic injuries. They work in conjunction with other interdisciplinary clinics like the Down syndrome. clinic. They assist and train children and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment to promote independence.

Position Summary

Responsible for the evaluation and provision of physical therapy services to children; the accompanying written documentation and verbal communication needed to administer care including provider orders; provides patient/family/caregivers staff and student training; provide a safe clean environment; provides proper care for departmental equipment; manages time effectively and promotes patient/family provider and intradepartmental satisfaction. All of the positions duties are performed within Childrens MN Standards of Behavior.
The inpatient position is primarily based in Minneapolis with the possibility of floating to St. Paul if census levels necessitate. Additionally if the candidate is interested in outpatient coverage there are opportunities available throughout the Twin Cities metro area.

Bachelors masters or doctoral degree from an accredited physical therapy program. Minnesota state licensure. Temporary Minnesota state licensure accepted if accompanied by proof of passing physical therapy board examination. BLS certification. Pediatric experience preferred.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
