Education/Experience:
- Must be a graduate of a Practical Nursing Education program with a current and unrestricted license to practice in the state of Ohio
- 3 years of prior experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred
- Requires previous procedural experience

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing support to patients undergoing an interventional pain office procedure. Under the supervision of the physician prepare the patient for the procedure and assist with post-procedure recovery. Educate patients and family members regarding interventional pain procedures
Priority Essential Functions:
- Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
- Prepare the patient chart before the office by gathering all test results films and reports and uploading them in the correct section of the chart.
- Prepare patient for interventional pain procedure by taking vital signs administering blood glucose testing and other screenings as determined by the physician and within the scope of practice.
- Comply with medical records standards by completing allergy notations problem lists and concomitant medication sheets. Ensure patient completion of medical history.
- Assist with the preparation of the sterile field for procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in clinic office practice and perform clinical services.
- Monitor patient post-procedure vital signs and recovery status
- Maintain daily medication logs
- Ensure room turnover to efficiently manage the procedural appointment schedule
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and other staff by following all OSHA guidelines with regard to bloodborne pathogens and procedures for protection.
- Keep an adequate supply of all medical supplies and printed materials.
- Serve as a liaison between the physician and the patient by providing the patient with instruction from the physician advising the physician of the patients needs and assuring that the physician is available to the patient whenever necessary in person or by telephone.
- Maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other support staff (Medical Secretaries Registrars Outpatient Scheduling Coordinators etc.)
- Handle external and internal communication in a prompt efficient and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills by ensuring patient satisfaction during office visits and dealing with diverse audiences and individuals with differing physical and mental abilities.
- Utilize Mayfield technology by checking e-mail daily and accessing information on The Clip and Mayfields website
- Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
