At Samesun Toronto were proud to be part of the vibrant Kensington Market neighbourhood and were looking for a dynamic Assistant General Manager to help lead our team and keep the good vibes going.
Position Overview
Were seeking a hands-on motivated Assistant General Manager who thrives in a fast-paced people-focused environment. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations staff management guest services and overall hostel atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone who has hospitality or management experience loves working with people and is passionate about creating memorable travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the GM in managing daily hostel operations ensuring smooth check-ins/outs housekeeping and front desk service.
- Assist in hiring training and scheduling staff.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and positivity.
- Help oversee hostel facilities safety and cleanliness standards.
- Contribute to community-building events and ensure the hostel remains a welcoming social environment.
- Step into the GM role when needed making strong decisions to keep things running smoothly.
- Lead by example by providing excellent guest service while supporting and motivating the team.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or management experience (hostel/hotel experience an asset).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with technology and property management systems.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- A people-person who enjoys meeting travelers from around the world!
