About the position
This position is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of laboratory support services within the School of Nursing and Midwifery Bundoora Campus. The role ensures that teaching activities are delivered efficiently and in full compliance with Health & Safety and other regulatory requirements.
The role oversees the preparation setup and pack-down of equipment for laboratory and simulation sessions manages ad hoc scheduling requests and ensures the accuracy and coordination of timetabled activities. It also includes orienting staff to laboratory procedures supporting teaching staff with equipment use monitoring stock levels ordering equipment and consumables and maintaining laboratory resources. A key aspect of the position involves supervising and rostering laboratory support staff to maintain consistent service delivery and operational coverage across all scheduled activities.
As a central point of contact for staff and students the position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of laboratory services and may assist clinical laboratory activities across the Clinical Schools when required contributing to a high standard of operational integrity and responsiveness.
This role supports the practical classes of the Nursing & Midwifery students and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. This will be rostered on a rotational basis.
