Essential Duties:
- Post routine journal vouchers enter vouchers into registers and post to subsidiary ledgers.
- Perform any combination of routine duties including calculations postings and verifications.
- Responsible for maintaining routine accounting records and reports in accordance with established procedures such as accounts payable accounts receivable payroll inventory control general accounting records or offender funds.
- Possibly responsible for payroll and/or petty cash.
- Display rotate and sell merchandise to offenders.
- Safeguard merchandise and make sure it is maintained in saleable condition.
- Monitor the cleanliness and appearance of the commissary area and cashier office.
- Participate in monthly physical inventory and preparation of reports for accounting.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience with automated accounting systems and computer proficiency and one (1) year varied and responsible accounting bookkeeping or related experience preferred. Academic training in bookkeeping accounting or payroll and experience with automated accounting systems preferred.
- A valid drivers license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.
- The selected candidate must be approved for hire by ODRC and must maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
- You must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
