Job Description
As a Business Control Specialist for SoX Mortgages you will be responsible for executing control evaluations sample testing and audit readiness activities across the Origination In-Life Management and Call processes for Mortgages portfolios. You will ensure timely and accurate documentation testing and reporting in line with SOX and internal control requirements contributing to INGs assurance capabilities and audit compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sample-based testing and control effectiveness checks for SOX controls across mortgage processes.
- Manage sample files and ensuring traceability and completeness.
- Conduct daily checks on mortgage files using systems like Force Hypos and Pega. Able to analyse the findings from the checks and challenge the impact of the checks towards the key controls effectiveness towards the business.
- Document findings and anomalies and share feedback to the business where needed for improvements and support remediation tracking.
- Support annual and biannual audits by collecting and validating evidence across mortgage files.
- Able to support ODCR the Netherlands on other 1st LoD responsibilities as shared operational services towards the business.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Create and deliver weekly monthly and biannual reports on control performance and findings.
- Elaborate findings to Safe Business Officers (SBOs) and Tribe leads ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Participate in meetings with CLT members and stakeholders to discuss findings and improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to improvement suggestions for processes with low control scores.

- Communicative: You can explain findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Organized: You manage large volumes of files and evidence with precision.
- Innovative: You can innovate for other improvement initiatives within the current WoW i.e. using GenAI to automate the checks and suggest improvement actions for the business.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree with up to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with SOX internal audit or financial control frameworks.
- Experience with mortgage systems (Force Hypos Pega) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
