Job Description

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) operates four steelmaking coal mines that employ over 5000 people in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. We are committed to responsible resource development environmental performance and building strong partnerships with communities and Indigenous Peoples.

Duration: 8 or 12 months

In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Support Inspections and inspection responses
    • Fix/update signage support coordination of equipment to repair roads culverts veg removal etc.
    • Support lease and campground upgrades/maintenance
    • Support Grazing Management Implementation at Grave Prairie
    • Coordinate fencing maintenance and installation
    • Support our landfolio and lease organization and transition
    • Contractor and project support for restoration projects
    • Safety/fire assessment at Sparwood ridge
    • Support land tenure lead through transition help organize leases within landfolio and other requirements as needed
    • Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

Requirements:

    • Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Conservation Biology or Forestry
    • A valid Class 5 Drivers License or extra-provincial equivalent without learners restrictions
    • Able to operate vehicles at our operations in various weather conditions and terrain
    • Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
    • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors
    • Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Access)

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
