Job Description

RN Operations Manager - Senior Home Care

Location: Visiting Angels Columbus Ohio

Must be a licensed RN

Position Type: Full-Time in person

Compensation: $75000 - $80000/yr. Plus bonuses commission benefits and PTO

Reports to: Executive Director / Ownership

Position Overview

The RN Operations Manager at Visiting Angels is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the home care agency while ensuring the highest standard of client care and regulatory compliance. This role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to manage caregiver performance maintain quality of services optimize scheduling and build strong relationships with clients families and caregivers. The RN Operations Manager will play a central role in ensuring the agency runs smoothly balancing compassionate care with efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight

  • Conduct client assessments reassessments and care plan development in compliance with Visiting Angels standards and state regulations.

  • Supervise train and evaluate caregivers on clinical and personal care competencies.

  • Provide ongoing coaching skills checks and corrective action where necessary.

  • Serve as the primary clinical resource for caregivers and office staff addressing escalated care issues and providing guidance.

  • Monitor compliance with infection control medication assistance and safety standards.

Operational Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the office ensuring efficient scheduling staffing and client coverage.

  • Oversee caregiver recruitment onboarding and retention efforts.

  • Implement scalable processes and workflows to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure timely completion of documentation including client care plans caregiver notes and incident reports.

  • Collaborate with the scheduling team to match caregiver skills and personalities with client needs.

Client & Family Relations

  • Act as the clinical liaison for clients and families ensuring satisfaction and timely resolution of concerns.

  • Maintain regular communication with families to review care plans progress and adjustments as needed.

  • Support client retention by building trust delivering consistent quality and proactively addressing issues.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure agency compliance with state licensing requirements Visiting Angels standards and applicable regulations.

  • Conduct audits of client charts caregiver documentation and office practices.

  • Lead quality assurance initiatives tracking metrics and implementing corrective actions.

  • Stay up-to-date on state regulations and industry best practices.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise office and field staff including conducting performance reviews setting expectations and mentoring.

  • Lead team meetings to communicate updates goals and priorities.

  • Foster a positive collaborative work culture aligned with Visiting Angels mission of compassionate care.

  • Serve as a role model of professionalism and empathy for all staff.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio (in good standing).

  • Nursing experience preferably in home care senior care long-term care or community health.

  • Prior leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of state regulations and best practices for non-medical and personal care services.

  • Excellent organizational leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to balance clinical judgment with operational decision-making.

  • Proficient in scheduling software EMR systems and other software tools.
