Under general supervision the Research Manager plans and collaborates with relevant agencies and organizations at all levels to develop and Implement strategies for statistical analysis. The Research manager is responsible for the development compilation analysis and reporting of all information originating in assigned program area and uses computer program procedures for data collection and analysis; works with data processing professionals to develop specialized data analysis programs. This role manages and directs the compilation and presentation of statistical and/or other information develops and designs information systems to intake data from various sources and in various forms store statistical/relevant information and monitor trends and collects and reports data to support the Departments Action Plan Metrics.


Responsibilities of the Research Manager:

  • Manages the continuous assessment process for the Departments Campaign Plan and Annual Action Plan. Designs implements and executes a state-wide dynamic data collection process that ensures timely and accurate assessments across all the Departments strategic and operational objectives using a combination of quantitative and qualitative metrics. Incorporates all partners in the data collection process adjusting as required to the individual needs and capabilities of those partners. Uses the resulting data to provide data-driven assessments conclusions and recommendations. Prepares verbal written and graphic reports and presentations for a wide variety of audiences to summarize assessments and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Responsible for the development compilation analysis and reporting of all information originating In Understanding the Constituency Focus Area. Uses computer program procedures for data collection and analysis; works with data processing professionals to develop specialized data analysis programs specific to Transitioning Veterans as a primary focus. Manages and directs the compilation publication and presentation of statistical and/or other information at monthly Action Plan briefings quarterly partner engagements and annual Governors Summit on Veteran Affairs. Develops and designs information systems to store statistical information monitor trends and make recommendations for legislation and policy.
  • Responsible for the development compilation analysis and reporting from a variety of data sources across the Coalition from open-source data reporting other state agencies non-profit County Federal State and other agencies for which we have established an agreement for data sharing and/or data use. These reports will be used to produce standard heads up displays which allow for leaders to see trends confirm hypotheses and make decisions on Veteran need and/or highlight areas of success. Further these products will drive strategies policies and legislative nominations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelors degree and 5 years professional experience involving the collection analysis interpretation and presentation of quantified data. A masters degree in statistics may be substituted for the required work experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Position may require overnight travel.
  • Position may require working evenings weekends and during emergency situations.
  • Position requires routine driver duties.
  • Position requires frequent lifting of 20 lbs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications
