Position Description
The Temporary Administrative Assistant will represent Human Resources in various capacities by communicating information processing requests and maintaining employee records. Provides administrative support required to fulfill the Human Resource needs of the Elections Department in the Harris County Clerks Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily workflow of Human Resources within the Elections Department by handling requests that are received via telephone calls and via email.
Support and assist the HR department with Election workers and Temporary staff.
Assist and process time sheets for Election workers and temporary employees.
Assist and process payroll for Election Workers.
Assist election staff with various tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Ability to work overtime without prior notice and work flexible hours as required
- Ability to work without direct supervision have good analytical and organizational skills
Must be willing to travel to any destination required to participate or assist with office projects (such as Elections)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills

This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files up to 10 pounds open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phone photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
Due to a high volume of applications positions may close prior to the advertised closing date or at the discretion of the Hiring Department.
