Quality Inspector Aerospace (Manual Inspection)

Location:South West UK (On-site)

Salary:benefits

Im currently recruiting for a leading aerospace precision engineering business who are looking for aQuality Inspectorto join their established team. This role is primarilymanual inspection ensuring aerospace components meet tight tolerances and customer specifications.

The Role:

  • Carry outfirst-off in-process and final inspectionson precision-machined aerospace components.
  • Use a wide range ofmanual inspection equipment(micrometers verniers gauges shadowgraphs height gauges etc.) to verify quality.
  • OperateCMMsfor measurement and inspection when required.
  • Interpretengineering drawingsand specifications including GD&T.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain full traceability of documentation.
  • SupportFAIR (First Article Inspection Report)activity when needed.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality issues at source.

What Youll Need:

  • Experience as aQuality Inspectorwithin aerospace precision engineering or a similar high-precision industry.
  • Strong skills inmanual inspectionusing micrometers verniers and gauges.
  • Ability to operateCMMs(basic programming desirable but not essential).
  • Solid understanding ofengineering drawingsand geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Desirable:

  • Aerospace or defence sector background.
  • Knowledge of FAIRs and AS9100 standards.
  • Apprenticeship or qualifications in mechanical/precision engineering.

Hours & Benefits:

  • 37 hours per week (MonThu 07:3016:00 Fri 07:3012:30).
