Job Description:
Student Network Technicians assist ITS Network Services personnel with the installation and maintenance of the campus enterprise network. The primary focus of this position will be on the physical layer of the network. Networking Services is looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about technology and take initiative to resolve user networking issues. No previous experience in networking is required for this position. Training will be provided to complete the listed duties and responsibilities below.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform network line activations
- Troubleshoot network cabling issues
- Resolve client network issues
- Resolve ISM networking issues in a timely manner
- Assist with troubleshooting Fiber Optics
- Complete wireless site surveys
- Repair and test campus CATV connections
- Assist with campus networking projects
- Assist in the upkeep of network documentation
- Assist with the installation and replacement of network UPS components
