Mental Health Support Worker Join Our Compassionate Team in the Riverland Mallee Coorong LHN Mental Health Service

Make a real difference by supporting consumers on their recovery journey through practical person-centred and recovery-oriented care. This rewarding role gives you the chance to provide vital support across community acute and rehabilitation settings.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Support Worker you will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based recovery-oriented services within the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network Mental Health Service.

Working under the supervision of a clinician you will provide non-clinical psychosocial support services to consumers helping them understand and engage with the concept of recovery and rehabilitation. Your role will be practical and hands-on supporting consumers in achieving the goals outlined in their individual care plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering non-clinical recovery-focused psychosocial support.
  • Assisting consumers in achieving goals identified in their care plans.
  • Promoting recovery wellness and rehabilitation through information and guidance.
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Providing support across community acute and rehabilitation settings with flexibility to work across multiple sites.

This is an opportunity to support recovery in meaningful ways helping consumers live with greater independence resilience and wellbeing.

What Were Looking For:

  • Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health.
  • Experience in working with people who have health and/or mental health related issues.
  • Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing desktop publishing Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural and Aboriginal consumers.
