Job Summary
Our client Alt Construction is one of the fastest-growing construction companies in Indiana and their leadership team is expanding. Alt Construction seeks an experienced Construction Controller who combines strategic insight with attention to this role youll not only oversee financial operations but also help shape the future of our company with sound accounting practices process improvements and forward-looking analysis.
What Youll Do
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and deliver accurate timely financial reporting
- Develop budgets forecasts and cash flow projections to guide decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry standards
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage job costing WIP schedules project financials and profitability analysis
- Supervise and support the Bookkeeper and other accounting staff
- Partner with project managers to ensure financial visibility and accountability on projects
- Build and improve financial processes systems and controls as the company scales
- Prepare and present reports for executive leadership lenders investors and auditors
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning growth initiatives and capital decisions
What Were Looking For
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting leadership experience (CPA strongly preferred)
- Construction industry experience required or strongly preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks required; experience with Buildertrend (or similar) and Ramp (or other bill pay systems) strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of job costing WIP accounting and project-based financials
- Proven leadership team development and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced growing company and adapt as systems scale
- Excitement to work on-site in Zionsville IN and engage in person with colleagues
