Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer (Intermediate to Principal Level) Hybrid Working

A Building Services consultancy based just a few minutes walk from Birmingham Snow Hill station is looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Birmingham office. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload they are keen to speak with engineers at all levels from Intermediate through to Principal.

This consultancy has ambitious plans to expand the team over the next 12 months making it an exciting time to join and progress your career.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Producing electrical designs sketches and schematics across a variety of projects.
  • Designing power distribution and electrical systems with a strong emphasis on low-carbon engineering and sustainability.
  • Develop and manage detailed electrical design solutions for projects ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Conducting site surveys and occasional site visits to oversee electrical installations.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and project documentation.
  • Liaising with clients contractors and wider stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Providing design support across multiple sectors including Commercial Healthcare Education Retail and Industrial.
  • Supporting mentoring and/or leading teams (depending on level of experience).

Requirements:

  • Experience within a Building Services Consultancy or similar role (Electrical Design Engineer Senior Electrical Design Engineer Principal Electrical Design Engineer).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; Revit experience/training is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution and power systems design.
  • Experience with low-carbon engineering and renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage workloads timelines and budgets.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is essential.
  • Familiarity with design-build projects or consultancy environments is advantageous.
