Job Summary

Phlebotomy Technician (Contract Role)

Location: Saranac Lake NY 12983

Duration: 8 weeks

Shift: 8-hour Rotating Shifts (Day and Evening)

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Weekly Pay Rate: $720 - $880; (Negotiable based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages
Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of specimens
Maintain proper documentation and log all collections into the lab information system
Ensure all specimens are transported and stored under appropriate conditions
Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy stations and equipment
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with patients and staff
Rotate between day and evening shifts as assigned
Follow HIPAA and hospital regulations regarding patient information confidentiality

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).
Experience: Prior phlebotomy experience and a science background are required.
Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
