Application Lab Support Engineering
LS.01 Hardware/Software Engineering Maintenance and Support Package
Complete installation and instantiation of the application virtual network functions (VNF) and platform.
Maintain lab application configurations including creation and review of software upgrade plans.
Troubleshoot and resolve lab issues. Collaborate with test and development teams to determine root causes and implement appropriate workarounds or permanent fixes.
LS.02 Network Management Engineering Maintenance and Support Package
Includes and it is not limited to providing network planning & tracking for the application lab. The engineer may be required to work with the services network design and test teams to plan the lab network. Implementing and delivering a fully integrated network lab. Provide maintenance and support of lab routers and switches assigning IP subnets as needed to the product teams and diagnostics-fixes of network issues. Responsible for the network design documentation that must be kept up to date.
LS.03 Lab Cybersecurity and Vulnerabilities Management Engineering and Implementation Package - Good to have
Each month an audit is done on each lab that scans for software vulnerabilities. These are analyzed findings reported and planned for in a timely manner. Identified vulnerabilities are addressed and corrected or an exception is provided. Quality of vulnerability fix should ensure the vulnerability will not reappear in the next audit run. All actions towards the closure of identified vulnerabilities are documented.
Cyber Security includes keeping labs and servers up-to-date with latest fixes for Windows Linux and cloud software. These updates will be provided by Nokia security organization. Cyber-security alerts are to be addressed and closed. All actions to address the alerts are to be documented and reported.
LS.04 Asset Inventory Management Package
Responsible for documentation of all networks hardware and IP addresses. The Lab Equipment Inventory must be kept up to date as equipment is decommissioned moved within the lab or new equipment is added. The corporate fixed asset inventory must be correctly updated to reflect any changes. Updates are to be communicated to the Lab Manager immediately.
