Job Summary
3pm-11:30pm EOW and Holidays required - Part Time
BLS Required (through AHA or RQI only)
Required: NYS RN Licensure
Minimum of one (1) year LTC experience and previous supervisory experience
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units.
Plans directs coordinates and evaluates the Nursing Departments activities consistent with the philosophy of nursing in compliance with established policies procedures standards and regulations.
Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts.
Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items.
Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility
