Job Summary
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Salary: 15.00 19.00 per hour
Location: Covering Centeral South England (Dorset and Hampshire)

About the role
This is a hands-on position that will see you involved in maintaining repairing and improving a range of mechanical systems. Youll be diagnosing faults carrying out planned work and responding quickly when things dont go to plan. Accuracy safety and an eye for efficiency are key here youll be expected to keep things running smoothly while also looking for ways to make processes better.

Working hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am 4:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am 3:30 pm
37 hours per week
Key duties
Carry out mechanical maintenance repairs and improvements
Diagnose and fix faults quickly and effectively
Work from technical drawings and engineering documents
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Support wider teams with engineering challenges
Keep accurate records of work and parts used
Key requirements
Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer Maintenance Engineer or similar
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fault-finding methods
Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
Practical hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of health and safety standards in an engineering environment
Engineering qualifications or apprenticeship background would be an advantage
