About Vind AI

Vind AI was founded in Oslo in 2022 with the goal of becoming the industry standard for how wind power projects are planned and developed. Our company offers a web-based platform that brings together data analysis and collaboration tools to support decision-making and reduce risk in the early stages of renewable energy projects.

By combining advanced analyses visualizations and bottom-up cost estimates the platform helps wind developers rapidly assess the business case of their projects both onshore and offshore. It has been well received by the industry and is already in use by several major players in the sector. Our team is based in Oslo and consists of developers commercial professionals and domain experts working closely across functions.

About the roles

As part of our Software team you will be a key part of our product team. You will work on a broad range of tasks and collaborate closely with designers and domain experts in a focused agile environment. Our engineering teams operate with a flexible 4-week focus and 2-week exploration cadence encouraging initiative and experimentation. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working on complex problems and are not afraid of a challenge as your work will have a direct and visible impact on our customers.

What you will be doing

Your responsibilities will be tailored to your primary focus area but both roles involve building and validating new features and solutions in collaboration with the product team and customers. You will contribute to our pragmatic and solution-oriented engineering culture upholding collective code ownership and maintaining shared code responsibly.

• As a Senior Algorithm Engineer you will build the algorithms that sit at the heart of our platform. You will take part in developing and scaling the optimization models and statistical methods that power Vind AIs platform and for translating academic methods into robust production-ready tools. You will also work with Python and FastAPI to build our core backend components and APIs.
• As a Senior Software Engineer you will build the user experiences our customers rely on to plan compare and validate wind projects. You will own and evolve our interactive web application with a strong emphasis on maps and data visualization ensuring high performance accessibility and a maintainable component architecture. You will work with TypeScript and React to create beautiful and intuitive user interfaces.
  

Who we are looking for

Were looking for passionate engineers who want to join us on our ambitious growth journey. While both roles require a collaborative and pragmatic mindset the technical requirements differ.

• For the Senior Algorithmic Engineer role:
  • Experience as a backend developer with a strong background in mathematics or physics
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant optimization frameworks and building APIs
  • An interest in working with complex data-heavy industries and validating value directly with customers.
  • Experience in optimization statistics or applied mathematics from work or a university is a plus.
• For the Senior Software Engineer role:
  • Experience building production web applications with TypeScript and React or similar
  • Proven track record delivering data-heavy UIs with attention to performance and usability
  • Strong experience with state management (e.g. Jotai Recoil) and modern React patterns
  • Hands-on experience with maps/geospatial libraries (e.g. Mapbox GL) is a significant plus
