Job Summary
SAUR UK has a proud and rich history of UK operations. Today our work is primarily in Glasgow where Saur operates the Wastewater Treatment Works in Dalmuir on behalf of Scottish Water Scotlands national water and wastewater provider.
Dalmuir WWTW is a Wastewater Treatment plant located in Glasgow Scotland.
Our plant receives up to 374 000m3 of wastewater per day utilising conventional treatment methods such as biological aeration and centrifuges for sludge dewatering.
The staff is composed of 25 employees who ensure robust operation and maintenance 24/7 either on-site or via our automated SCADA & call out systems overnight and across weekends.
As a direct affiliate of SAURs mother company in France Saur Services Glasgow is supported by industry experts for any specific need or implementation of capital projects.
Process Engineer is a key position in SAUR Services Glasgow process team.
The Process Engineer role includes:
- Covering the Process Manager position when he/she is off duty or engaged with others specific mission.
- Contribute to the process monitoring by checking the SCADA daily.
- Contribute to the Process adjustment to ensure the compliancy of the treated water prior to discharge the river Clyde by running weekly Jar test and microbiologic observations.
- Participate to the laboratory operation and be able to run the daily analysis.
- Work on the process optimisation to minimize the expense (chemical and electricity) and cost/m3 treated and therefore contribute to the monitoring of the chemical budget.
- Manage sensors stocks and maintenance plan.
- Work closely with the Process Technician and the Laboratory Technician for the weekly sensors
recalibration.
- Contribute to the Standard Operating Procedure implementation.
- Support the Operation and Maintenance team to adjust the process during the maintenance activity to avoid process failure and disturbance.
- Reinforce promote & review safe working practices with the team.
Process compliance:
- SEPA indicator (Scottish Regulator)
- SCADA monitoring
Process optimisation:
- Chemical consumption
- Electricity consumption
Requirements:
- 3 years field experience in the water treatment area
Educational background:
- Process engineer / technician
- Stock management knowledge
- Laboratory knowledge
- SCADA knowledge
Languages: Fluent English; French is a bonus
