Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Active Directory Engineer

Location: Chandler AZ Irving TX Charlotte NC

Contract: 1 Year

Rate: $50/hr - $55/hr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Active Directory Engineer to design secure and support our global identity and access management environment. This role is responsible for leading the architecture implementation and optimization of Active Directory (AD) Azure AD and related identity services ensuring a highly secure and scalable infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in enterprise Active Directory cloud identity technologies and security best practices along with strong skills in automation and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Lead the design and modernization of enterprise Active Directory and Azure AD environments.
Define and maintain OU structures Group Policies replication DNS and DHCP integration.
Develop hybrid identity solutions and federated authentication strategies.

Operations & Support

Provide tier-3 engineering support for AD ADFS Azure AD Connect and identity issues.
Monitor troubleshoot and optimize replication authentication and authorization.
Manage PKI certificate services and secure LDAP for enterprise environments.

Security & Compliance

Implement PAM Conditional Access and security baselines for AD.
Partner with security teams on audits vulnerability remediation and regulatory compliance (SOX HIPAA GDPR).
Harden directory services against cyber threats and privilege misuse.

Automation & Innovation

Develop automation scripts and tools using PowerShell/Python.
Drive adoption of Zero Trust principles and cloud-based identity management solutions.
Support integration with Microsoft 365 SaaS applications and federation protocols (SAML OAuth SCIM).

Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with IT Security and Cloud teams on projects migrations and integrations.
Mentor junior engineers and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Provide technical leadership on directory and identity-related projects.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
8 years of hands-on experience managing Active Directory in enterprise environments.
Expertise with Azure AD ADFS Azure AD Connect Conditional Access and SSO/Federation.
Strong skills in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) DNS DHCP PKI.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Deep understanding of authentication protocols (Kerberos LDAP NTLM).

Preferred:

Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or similar.
Experience with Okta Ping or other IAM platforms.
Background in cybersecurity incident response and directory hardening.
