Job Summary

Summary:

The Tooling Manager will oversee the processing of mold repair and manage the activities to achieve optimal levels of productivity quality and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Directly supervise all associates in the tool room while working directly with them on the shop floor with everyday tasks.
Coordinate tooling repair activity to meet plant quality and schedule requirements.
Direct plant tool repair activity to meet plant efficiency and utilization targets.
Control outside tool repair costs as much as possible.
Maintain performance to Tool Room budget while working directly with Process Eng. Manager.
Troubleshoot issues on new and existing processes.
Develop a measurement tool to ensure output equates to staffing.
Available to provide support to all three shifts.
Oversee and adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e. quality policy manual employee handbook)
Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations plans policies and applicable laws.
Train employees
Plan assign and direct work.
Appraise performance of direct reports.
Address complaints and resolve problems within the tooling department and use the company progressive discipline procedure to address employee issues of direct reports.
Troubleshoot and repair molds providing guidance (being hands on)
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

5 years of tooling experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably plastics or automotive)
3 years supervisory experience in a tooling environment.
Must have excellent technical and mechanical aptitude.
