We are seeking Italian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Italian is a priority European language frequently requested in asylum immigration and naturalization proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Italian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
Interpret accurately impartially and professionally in immigration legal and administrative contexts.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal healthcare community or government preferred).
Knowledge of interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
