Senior Procurement Lead

The opportunity

Reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (NZ) the Senior Procurement Lead will play a pivotal role in driving procurement strategy and execution across Downers Energy & Utilities projects.

Based in Auckland Wiri this role will see you working at the forefront of bids tenders and project mobilisations partnering with senior leaders project teams sub-contractors and suppliers to deliver cost-effective innovative and sustainable solutions. You will join a high-performing collaborative team that supports major infrastructure programs critical to communities nationwide.

What youll do

In this role you will:

• Lead procurement input into bids and tenders developing competitive sourcing strategies and vendor engagement plans.
• Drive strategic sourcing and execution for high-value complex packagesincluding negotiation contract drafting and award.
• Provide cost intelligence supply market insights and commercial innovation to support win strategies.
• Build strong third-party supplier and subcontractor relationships while proactively managing risk compliance and performance.
• Partner with senior project leadership to ensure procurement strategies align with client cost quality and schedule objectives.

What were looking for

Were seeking an experienced procurement professional with:

• 10 years procurement experience within energy utilities or infrastructure (Tier 1 preferred).
• Proven success supporting bids and tenders for high-value projects in the public or private sector.
• Expertise in sourcing negotiating and managing complex high-risk or long-lead packages.
• Strong stakeholder management influencing and negotiation skills.
• A proactive ethical leader with the ability to thrive in complex fast-paced project environments.
