About Us

Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We provide secure high-quality language support in more than 80 languages to USCIS and other federal agencies.

We are seeking Igbo (also spelled Ibo) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Igbo is a rare West African language often required for asylum and immigration interviews.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Igbo English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
Interpret with accuracy neutrality and professionalism in legal and immigration contexts.
Follow USCIS/DHS compliance standards and interpreter ethics.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Igbo (Ibo) and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration community healthcare legal or government preferred).
Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
Strong telephone communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
