Job Summary

Registered Nurses are encouraged to consider a unique nursing role with Liberty Healthcares specialized mental health program based at the Maguire Correctional Facility and Maple Street Correctional Center in Redwood City.

This program exclusively services adult jail inmates who are justice-involved and experienced mental illness.

Program objectives include facilitating access to mental health services restoring patients to competency for criminal justice proceedings preventing unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization and providing high quality psychiatric care.

As an RN with Libertys multidisciplinary team you will play a vital role in helping our clients achieve improved mental health.

Your responsibilities will focus on direct nursing care of jail inmates and include:

Conducting nursing assessments and monitoring patients health status

Administering medications and drawing blood for lab work

Educating patients on health and criminal justice topics

Documenting clinical notes and maintaining accurate records

Participating in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings

Collaborating with Psychiatrists mental health clinicians and custody staff

The work schedule for this part-time position involves three 8-hour shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm per week. Must be able to commit to a consistent schedule working the same days every week.

You can expect starting pay between $60.00 and $65.00 per hour (depending on qualifications).
