Job Summary

Description

Reporting to the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (NZ) the Senior Buyer will play a key role in sourcing the right materials and services at the right cost time and location to support a diverse portfolio of projects across Downers Energy & Utilities business.

Based in Auckland Wiri this full-time role will see you collaborate closely with project delivery teams suppliers and supply chain colleagues to deliver value improve performance and drive successful project outcomes. You will join a professional and supportive team working in an environment that values innovation accountability and continuous improvement.

What youll do

In this role you will:

Lead sourcing purchasing and contracting activity in line with Downer frameworks and standards.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships engaging proactively to address performance or compliance issues.
Partner with project teams to ensure procurement plans align with head contracts compliance standards and sustainability goals.
Monitor risks and opportunities providing trusted advice and insights to stakeholders.
Use procurement systems and tools (e.g. JDEGS Felix InEight Dynamics) to drive accuracy efficiency and cost savings.

What were looking for

Were seeking a motivated procurement professional with:

A bachelors degree in supply chain management procurement engineering project management or a related field.
5 years experience in procurement project or contract management within construction utilities oil & gas or similar industries.
Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of procure-to-pay and source-to-contract processes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
A proactive detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
