Overview
As a Nurse Supervisor in our Behavioral Health Unit at CHI St Vincent youll excel in your nursing career by leading a team of health care professionals that provide care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac telemetry orthopedics neurology critical care surgical services and emergency. We also have pediatric patients on this unit which require specialized attention for their unique medical conditions. While you might not have pediatric admissions every day this unit takes care of this patient population when they need our care.
Leading a team with the primary responsibility of taking care of others is very important. Our nursing supervisors are directly responsible for overseeing the quality of patient care and assure the delivery of individualized nursing care is given from each team member. The right person for this opportunity will have strong leadership characteristics and a passion for jumping in and working directly with the team when necessary. Responsibilities
- Leads a designated nursing area (part of a unit entire unit or entire facility)
- Oversees quality of patient care to assure delivery of individualized nursing care
- Oversees patient care delivery to maximize patient/family satisfaction and minimize risk of injury or negative outcomes to patients or employees while serving as a resource for staff
- Directs staff during emergency situations
- Coordinates orientation and/or training for team
- Responsible for driving patient care across the continuum through leadership of disciplinary care rounds and care management
We are offering a sign on bonus up to $25000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer referral bonuses excellent benefits and relocation assistance.
Qualifications
- Unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas
- A minimum of four years clinical nursing experience is required or 3 years as a charge nurse
- Behavioral health experience required
- BLS through the American Heart Association is required
