The Role
Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a (Junior Intern Technical or Senior Intern Technical) to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Newport News VA. Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicant will become part of Newport News Shipbuildings Information Technology Division. The Information Technology Division has many capabilities that allow it to be an industry leader in areas such as: security simulation training enterprise-level IT solutions and products information systems and services and engineering. As a result CoOp Interns receive a diverse experience. Our premier CoOp college intern program provides opportunities to rotate to areas within the information technology field each semester; areas such as Software Engineering Information Security Project Management Networking Telecommunications and the Program Management Office
Must Have
This position requires a commitment to work up to 20 hours a week.
Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to apply:
- U.S. Citizen
- Must be a full time student enrolled in a4-year college/university.
- Must have completed freshman year.
- Cumulative GPA of2.5 or greater.
- Unofficial transcripts are required when applying. Failure to upload transcripts at time of application will result in automatic disqualification.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of specific equipment and technologies is desired but not required as this is an internship that will expose the intern to a variety of information technologies.
