Were looking for a confident and experienced leader to head up our Mid-Market Underwriting this role youll be responsible for delivering underwriting strategies developing a team of specialists and building strong relationships with brokers and key partners to support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the mid-market strategy to drive sustainable growth
- Build strong relationships with brokers reinsurers and internal stakeholders to deliver quality underwriting outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and support across complex risk assessments and facultative reinsurance placements
- Enhance Suncorps profile through industry engagement and partnership-building activities
- Embed effective governance risk management and portfolio oversight
- Contribute to financial goals through strategic planning performance tracking and innovative problem-solving
- Champion customer-centric solutions that improve ease of doing business and deliver long-term value
- Promote flexible inclusive and collaborative ways of working across the wider Corporate & Specialty team
About You
- Minimum 10 years of insurance industry experience including 5 years in underwriting sales or portfolio management roles
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong commercial underwriting knowledge and a sound understanding of reinsurance risk evaluation and legislation
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A natural coach and mentor with a passion for people leadership and continuous improvement
- Tertiary qualification and/or industry accreditation (e.g. Senior Associateship with ANZIIF) desirable
