This is a part-time (up to 30.4 hours per week) max-term role until February 2026 with the possibility of extension. Days and hours of work are flexible with hybrid work options available.

What youll be doing:

    • In consultation with the People Experience Manager providing expert guidance to managers in resolving complex employee relations matters including high-risk performance misconduct and grievance cases. ensuring compliance with legislation policy and enterprise agreements.
    • Supporting managers in conducting procedurally fair and compliant investigations and formal processes escalating complex or high-risk matters to the People Experience Manager as required.
    • Advising on employee-related aspects of organisational change including restructures consultation and role transitions ensuring compliance with industrial obligations and organisational values.
    • Providing high-level advice and guidance on employee relations and industrial relations matters including performance management misconduct grievances and procedural fairness.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with organisational requirements ensuring appropriate documentation of advice actions and outcomes.
    • Identify and escalate serious matters such as child safety concerns harassment discrimination or reportable conduct through appropriate organisational channels.
    • Ensuring consistent values-aligned practices in the management of complex people issues across the organisation.
    • Coach and support People Experience Advisors in managing lower-risk casework including performance management misconduct and return-to-work processes while keeping the People Experience Manager informed of any emerging risks or trends.
    • Build capability and confidence in leaders across the organisation by providing guidance tools and practical coaching to support consistent values-aligned people management.

What we are looking for (key selection criteria):

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources Industrial Relations Employment Law or any other related discipline (highly desired).
    • Demonstrated experience in managing complex employee relations matters including performance management investigations grievances and workplace misconduct within a values-driven or community-focused organisation.
    • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation modern awards (particularly the SCHADS Award) and enterprise agreements including the ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments in practical workplace contexts.
    • Proven ability to provide practical solutions-focused advice to managers and team members on sensitive people matters balancing compliance fairness and organisational values.
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build credibility influence stakeholders and navigate complex workplace dynamics with professionalism and discretion.
    • Experience coaching or mentoring others including supporting less experienced HR practitioners and leaders to build confidence and capability in people management.
    • Strong organisational and documentation skills including the ability to maintain accurate records manage competing priorities and ensure procedural compliance.
    • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to child safety principles including the ability to identify and escalate child safety concerns in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational procedures.
    • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.
