Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in climate risk assessment environmental finance or a related area within the Insurance banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of climate science regulatory frameworks and sustainable finance principles.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.

Education

  • Masters degree in Insurance Environmental Science Finance Risk Management or a related field.

Responsibilities

  1. Project Management Collaboration and Engagement:

    • Manage the ongoing climate risk projects with Banks asset managers and corporates segments.
    • Engage with stakeholders including IPL RM Strategy team within Moodys .
    • Ability to engage with regulators industry groups and implementation partners to share best practices and enhance the banks climate risk strategy.
    • Work closely with internal teams including risk management credit investment and sustainability to integrate climate risk considerations into business practices.
  2. Solutioning and Strategic Development:

    • Contribute to the development of the banks climate risk strategy and sustainability initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for the bank asset manager and corporates to support sustainable finance and investment practices.
  3. Climate Risk Assessment and regulatory compliance

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of climate-related risks across the banks /Asset manager and Corporate portfolio including physical and transition risks.
    • Develop and implement climate risk assessment frameworks and methodologies.
    • Monitor and analyse regulatory developments related to climate risk in banking and asset management
    • Ensure that the bank complies with relevant regulations and guidelines form climate risk perspective including those set forth by regulatory bodies and industry standards.
    • Collect analyse and interpret climate-related data to inform risk assessments and reporting.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders on climate risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
  4. Tech enablement training and Awareness:

    • Ensure process efficiency across the function using the latest automation and AI tools
    • Develop and deliver training programs for climate COE on climate risk awareness and management.
    • Thought leadership and offerings on climate risk for Banks Asset manager and corporates

About the team

The Climate Center of Excellence (CCOE) is a horizontal function within Moodys insurance solutions. It collaborates with Banking Asset Management and Corporate/Government segments to refine customer value commercial strategy and go-to-market plans while building capabilities that enhance segment positions Moodys as a leading source for understanding physical climate risk transition risk and sustainability simplifying internal processes and communication.
