Postdoctoral Fellow
Location: Tilburg
Contract size: 0.8 or 1.0 FTE (32 or 40 hours per week)
Full-time gross monthly salary: minimum 4.075- and maximum 5.538-
Contract duration: 2 years
Desired start date: November 2025
The Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences at Tilburg University seeks a talented interdisciplinary postdoctoral scholar for a 2-year position to expand interdisciplinary research in the context of the newly established Academic Collaborative Center Resilient Democratic Society (REDES). The successful applicant will pursue and support research from an interdisciplinary perspective grounded in a technological domain in combination with humanities and social sciences. We invite applications from candidates who will have successfully defended their PhD (or approved manuscripts) by the start date of October 2025.
The postdoctoral fellow will work in Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences with representatives of different department a collaborative and interdisciplinary intellectual community of researchers studying the impact of technology on democratic societies with focus on the themes of cyber resilience digital sovereignty civic vitality & democracy and cultural heritage.

In addition to being involved in research projects the postdoctoral fellow will carry out activities in outreach and impact.
Outreach
The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with colleagues from different departments at Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences. Additionally the postdoctoral fellow should seek out opportunities to share their research and work in progress regularly with colleagues from other Schools at Tilburg University and partners of the Academic Collaborative Center. Particular emphasis is placed on creative and impactful ways of translating research findings into meaningful work that is accessible to a wide audience in North Brabant and beyond. Candidates will be asked to describe their vision for how universities can develop relationships with regional communities and partners in the coming years.

The School of Humanities and Digital Sciences consists of four departments: Communication and Cognition Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence Culture Studies and Philosophy; several research institutes and a faculty office.
