Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Head of Programme and in coordination with relevant units at WFP the incumbent will be responsible for the development of a critical deliverable for the Government of Jordan which is the first national food security status report to be submitted to the Higher Food Security Council chaired by the PM. The incumbent will perform the tasks assigned to WFP by the working group including but limited to the following:
1. Mapping of national food security indicators and collection of their relevant data from its official sources. Indicators will include those in the Food Security Information Management System as well as global indicators for food security. This task will be performed in full collaboration with the Department of Statistics.
2. Perform in depth quantitative and qualitative analysis for each indicator. Analysis will cover the following areas:
Trend analysis of each indicator based on available time-series data and/or year-on-year comparison.
KPI in depth trend explanation taking into consideration the strategic shifts relevant policies regulations or any other internal/external drivers.
Define strategic and operational interlinkages between the KPIs explaining the impact of one on another.
Analyze and explain the progress (or not) on KPIs and drivers for progress or bottlenecks.
Based on the above develop the specific KPIs relevant recommendations and policy level advice in consultation with the working group and relevant teams at WFP.
3. Develop the macro-level analysis sections in the report taking into consideration the national regional and global dynamics on food security.
4. Develop any necessary presentations throughout the process and explain the progress to the working group.
5. Coordinate closely with the senior analyst appointed by FAO and synchronize tasks and responsibilities with the other members of the group.
6. Update the team members on work outcomes and validate the results with them.
7. Update the Deputy Head of Programme on the progress made on regular basis.
8. Report any coordination issues to the Deputy Head of Programme and the Chair of the Group.
9. Ensure the quality of the report and familiarize themselves with WFPs corporate food security methodologies
10. Advise the working group on any food security relevant indicators that may be considered for the analysis.
11. Perform other tasks as required
