Job Summary

Job Summary:

This role involves providing support to the obstetrics team in a Level II Trauma Center. The OB Tech assists with patient care procedures and other tasks as directed working 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in Labor & Delivery with experience in community hospitals and first assisting preferred. On-call responsibilities are included.
Location: Decatur Illinois United States
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with patient care in a 18-room 10-patient average census unit.
- Assisting with procedures such as abdominal hysterectomies C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
- Taking vital signs and providing basic patient care (e.g. giving water).
- Floating to Pediatrics as needed to assist with basic patient care tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work every third weekend.
- Willingness to work on-call (4 times every six weeks).
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
- Community hospital experience.
- First assist experience.
- Gynecology case experience (abdominal hysterectomy C-sections vaginal delivery).
Special Considerations:
- 3x12 night shifts (6 PM - 6:30 AM).
- 1:2 patient ratios.
- On-call responsibilities (4 shifts every 6 weeks).
- Floating to Pediatrics to assist with basic patient care.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without pay. Additional call-offs will be billed. On-call shifts count as called-off shifts.
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
- Scrub color provided.
- Parking permit required (no cost).

Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (1800-0630).
- Every third weekend required.
- On-call rotation (4 shifts every 6 weeks).
