Position Overview
We are seeking an Environmental/Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join the engineering team. This role will focus on the design and implementation of treatment and remediation systems for water and wastewater. The position requires working closely with multidisciplinary teams supporting both technical design and client-facing responsibilities and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities

Design water and wastewater process components including piping pumps flow control systems and treatment processes to remove solids metals VOCs and other contaminants

Select and design treatment technologies such as chemical precipitation ion exchange clarification filtration activated carbon and biological systems

Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs) process/instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and system specifications
-
Develop operating procedures (SOPs) and O&M plans for treatment systems
-
Support pilot studies system troubleshooting and technology upgrades
-
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (civil geotechnical mechanical electrical) to deliver integrated solutions
-
Manage project budgets schedules and deliverables while maintaining client satisfaction
-
Lead proposal preparation scope development and cost estimates for new projects
-
Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on project work

Prepare technical reports permit applications and regulatory documentation
-
Travel to client sites as needed
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
-
Minimum 5 years of environmental engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on water/wastewater or remediation system design
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain within 2 years
-
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D HydroCAD or similar design tools a plus

Strong client relationship and project management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently or in team settings
