Job Summary
At the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess ensuring the safety and well-being of our Colleagues guests and visitors is an integral part of our operations. As a Craftsperson/Carpenter your attentiveness efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe enjoyable workplace and travel destination.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
- Repair maintain dismantle structures furniture woodwork doors folding walls ceilings tile sheetrock and hardware throughout the resort.
- Visually inspects diagnoses problems takes measurements and makes necessary adjustments to items such as door hardware to ensure safe smooth operation of guestrooms public space and back of the house facilities.
- Maintain and repair doors furniture windows hang artwork headboards mirrors etc.
- Performs shop work to repair or build furniture and small structures.
- Identifies types and grade of wood and be familiar with hardware materials available to the Carpentry trade.
- Able to work closely with Vendors and team members to ensure proper quantities of building supplies are always on hand without exceeding the monthly budget.
- Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests colleagues damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
Qualifications :
- Adhere to Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Grooming Guidelines.
- Previous experience in a Maintenance role required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications not required but helpful
- Must have electrical plumbing and basic maintenance skills
- Must be able to read write speak English fluently
