AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Transit and Rail Engineer to be based in New York NY.
This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation.
- Perform traffic and capacity analysis on roadway networks.
- Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning/engineering software (HCS Synchro simulation etc.).
- Prepare written documentation of NEPA/SEQRA/CEQRA Transportation results in support of client projects.
- Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects from concept/preliminary alternatives into design or document operational enhancements.
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts planning analysis and engineering conceptual design under the supervision of an experienced traffic engineer.
- Creates designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering preferred.
- FE Certification desired.
- Valid U.S. Drivers License preferred to visit project sites clients and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.
