Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled F5 Engineer to join our team supporting the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Environment (SIE) under the SITEC III EOM contract. This position is critical to ensuring the efficiency security and reliability of network services provided to USSOCOM. The selected individual will work onsite at MacDill AFB and will be responsible for the design implementation and maintenance of F5 networks ensuring optimal performance and security of critical mission systems.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provideUSSOCOM its Component Commands its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs) Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration change license and asset management; conduct training and perform Install Move Add Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM the CIO/J6 organization and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
F5 Network Engineering:
- Design configure and manage F5 BIG-IP load balancers including Local Traffic Manager (LTM) Global Traffic Manager (GTM) Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM) Access Policy Manager (APM) and other relevant modules.
- Implement and manage F5 iRules iApps and other automation tools to streamline network operations and enhance performance.
- Perform regular updates patches and upgrades to F5 devices to ensure they are up to date with the latest security features and firmware.
Network Security:
- Implement security policies and procedures in line with best practices to protect network infrastructure from vulnerabilities and threats.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with government and DoD regulations.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to maintain the integrity of the network environment.
Operational Support:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for F5 network issues including troubleshooting complex technical problems and coordinating with other IT teams to resolve incidents.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations standard operating procedures and incident response plans.
- Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network services.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with network architects system administrators cybersecurity teams and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of F5 technologies.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior network engineers and other IT staff on F5 technologies and best practices.
- Participate in regular meetings briefings and discussions with USSOCOM leadership and other stakeholders to provide updates on network status and project progress.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Min 12 years with HS Diploma 10 years with AS/AA degree 8 years with BS/BA 6 years with MS/MA
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance or above
- 8570 IAT II Certified
- F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in network engineering with at least 1-2 years focused on F5 technologies.
- Technical Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP load balancers including LTM GTM AFM and APM.
- Proficient in writing and troubleshooting F5 iRules iApps and other automation scripts.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking DNS SSL/TLS and related protocols.
- Experience with network security concepts and technologies including firewalls VPNs and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Target Salary Range
$80000 - $128000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
