Job Summary
Key responsibilities
- Lead operational security initiatives across infrastructure and cloud environments
- Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls and segmentation
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage remediation workflows
- Drive adoption of Zero Trust principles across systems and services
- Oversee access control policies and identity management practices
- Coordinate and respond to security incidents and investigations
- Perform regular security audits and configuration reviews
- Develop and enforce backup and recovery strategies aligned with security policies
- Apply security hardening techniques across endpoints servers and cloud assets
- Align operational practices with NIST CSF 2.0 and other recognised standards
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to embed security into operations
- Produce detailed reports and metrics for senior stakeholders and compliance teams.
Essential experience & skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operational cybersecurity
- Strong background in IT support or infrastructure engineering
- Proven expertise in network security firewalls and access control
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools and processes
- Familiarity with incident response frameworks and SIEM platforms
- Deep understanding of Cthe IA triad and its application in enterprise environments
- Experience implementing security controls in hybrid or cloud-first environments
- Knowledge of NIST CSF 2.0 ISO 27001 or similar frameworks.
Qualifications :
Certifications (highly desirable)
- Certifications such as CISSP CISM or GIAC
- Experience with automation and scripting for security operations (e.g. PowerShell Python)
- Exposure to security in containerised or microservices architectures.
