Position: Inventory SpecialistTSF Structures Inc. is a major supplier of structural steel joists deck Division 5 and miscellaneous. metals for the commercial industrial and institutional construction industry in Iowa and the surrounding states. We have been in business for 24 years and have expanded to three our Tipton location we are seeking an organized and communicative
Inventory Specialist. This individual will
performa variety of duties in receiving issuing handling and accounting for production and inventory control.
Day-to-day responsibilities/duties:
- Receive all shipments of raw material and hardware
- Print Raw Material tags as required
- Follow up on partial material shipments received
- Verify purchase orders todeliveries and let purchasing and accounting know of any discrepancies
- Monitor tagging and turnover of incoming staging areas and work with the manager to resolve issues if needed
- Do physical inventories of hardware verify and adjust as needed
- Assist with the physical inventory of raw materials as needed
- Check excess hardware for purchasing pull hardware when needed
- Manage all aspects of hardware - update Excel inventory file and bolt room signs when product is received in and shipped out
- Support the Plant Manager assisting with walk-in visitors and other appointments
- Ensure all visitors and vendors sign in before entering the plant
- Document all employee uniform rentals and forward forms to Human Resources
- Receive and record returned employee uniforms and forward forms to Human Resources
- Work overtime as business requires
- Demonstrate a commitment to process and quality improvement
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork
- Uphold support and promote all company policies procedures and vision
- Stay current with changes in the industry and position
- All other duties as assigned
- Serve as backup to Shipping Coordinator
- Schedule trucks and drivers for deliveries
- Approve and schedule an outside trucking company to ship the product
- Get quotes
Qualifications:
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical
school and six months to one year of related experience or training and experience is equivalent to education. - Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Super organized cool under pressure and a great multitasker
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook
- Experience in reading safety and operations manuals and turning them into action
- Ability to interpret schedules reports and chartsand keep things moving
