As a RN CCU at MercyOne you will serve as a clinician team member and professional and practices under these roles according to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (2004). The Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for the delivery of evidence-based safe efficient and family centered care in order to achieve the Mission of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center and the Vision of Patient Care Services.
- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retains accountability for ones own nursing practice.
- Responsible for planning assessing intervening co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Communicates with physicians ancillary caregivers patients and families regarding the patients plan of care.
- Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission vision and values of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.
- Performs assessments including physical psychosocial nutritional functional safety spiritual cultural and educational needs.
Schedule:
- 7:00 am 7:30 pm every third weekend and holiday rotation.
General Requirements:
- Active registration for Registered Nurse Board of Nursing State of Iowa.
- Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
- Must be ACLS certified within one year of hire.
- Must have 2 - 3 years experience as a RN preferred.
- Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred.
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be capable of problem solving critical thinking and assessment of patient condition.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy mission and vision goals and values of Trinity Health.
Education:
- Associate degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
