TITLE: Stipend Opportunity OSS Professional Development Administrative Supports
REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Professional Learning or their designee
STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The Office of Specialized Services (OSS) seeks to hire for a professional development stipend within the department to support the development of the Regional Teams PD Model.
This opportunity will occur from 9.1.25 to 12.31.25
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Deputy Chief of Professional Development in the structure and design for Regional Teams PD for the 2025-2026 School Year.
- Leverage existing BPS staff expertise to develop peer to peer professional development opportunities
- Design with a change management lens a dynamic research based and scalable curriculum for regional IEP teams and other IEP regional special education staff to:
- Improve communication effectiveness surrounding students IEPs
- Develop and strengthen effective team dynamics surrounding services provided to students on IEPs
- Reduce overall rates of administrative and service oriented areas of non-compliance with student IEPs
- Deliver adhoc procedural updates and necessary trainings to ensure successful adoption and implementation
- Develop and manage a curriculum evaluation system for Regional PD efforts and COSE PD. Ensure all professional development activities can sustain a real increase in the capacity of BPS to better serve SWD.
Opportunity will pay $75/hour up to 130 hours.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- Currently working in Boston Public Schools
- Experience designing curriculum
- Experience facilitating professional development team meetings and planning sessions
- Appropriate Licensure in Special Education School Administration or equivalent.
